Hot air balloon races take place in the open sky. Yudai Fujita is known as a genius at reading the wind.
This fall, he will compete in an international tournament to decide the world's best. Will Fujita be able to catch the wind of victory?
In hot air balloon races, the competition isn't about time, but about how precisely you can control the balloon. In the sky, the wind blows in different directions at different altitudes.
To do this, the pilot uses a burner to raise and lower the balloon, using multiple winds to get closer to the target.
In September, Fujita participated in the World Championships held in Hungary, aiming to win together with his wife Kanako, who supported him from the ground.
Fujita senses the difference in the wind and controls the balloon with ease, but an unexpected challenge awaits him.

Yu Fujita was born in Tochigi Prefecture in 1987. Influenced by his father, a hot air balloon athlete, he started flying hot air balloons as a child and obtained his hot air balloon pilot license at the age of 18. In 2014, he became the first Japanese to win the World Championship. He is one of Japan's leading hot air balloon pilots, having won the Japanese Championship seven times and the Hot Air Balloon Honda Grand Prix 12 times.
